Privacy Policy

In short: without an account, your learning stays on your phone. With an account, we keep only what is needed to sync your progress. Your voice never leaves your device. There are no ads or tracking tools, and we never sell your data.

This policy covers the Mubin app for iPhone and Android and the website mubin.app. If you have a question, email salam@mubin.app.

Using Mubin without an account

Your preferences, saved words, lesson progress and review schedule are stored on your device only. We do not receive them. They are removed when you delete the app.

If you create an account

An account lets you sync progress between devices. To provide it we store:

• your name and email address, and your password, which is stored securely by our sign-in provider;
• your daily goal and learning activity, such as lessons completed, reviews and saved words.

We use this only to run your account and sync your progress, and to send emails you need, such as a password reset or a deletion confirmation. On your device, your sign-in is kept in the phone’s secure storage.

The learning circle

The circle is optional. If you join it, your name and weekly practice points are shown to other members of the circle. You can leave it at any time in the app.

Your voice and the microphone

Recitation practice uses the microphone only while you practise. Your voice is processed on your device and is never uploaded or stored by us.

Reminders

Daily reminders are scheduled on your device from your own settings. We do not run a notification server, and you can turn reminders off in the app or in your phone’s settings.

Audio and app updates

Word audio is played from resources.surahpedia.com and recitations from the services that host them. App updates are delivered through Expo. Like any web request, these services receive technical details such as your IP address. Audio you download stays on your device.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist on mubin.app, we store your email address and the phone you chose in our database, and use them only to tell you when Mubin is available. To be removed, email us.

What we don’t do

• We don’t show ads or include advertising or analytics tools in the app.
• We don’t sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
• We don’t track you across other apps or websites.

Service providers

We rely on a few providers to run Mubin: Neon for our server, database and account sign-in, Netlify to host this website, and Apple and Google to distribute the app. They process data only to provide their services to us.

Deleting your account and data

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete my account, then confirm from the email we send you. This permanently deletes your account, synced learning history, saved words and circle membership. You can keep using Mubin without an account afterwards.

You can also email salam@mubin.app from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days. We keep account data only while your account exists.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Children can use Mubin without an account, which keeps everything on the device. Accounts are not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
